I remember quite clearly that I had no interest in taking typing classes in high school but, I did it anyway. I took two years of it actually, though I did not think I would have any need to know how to type. I wasn’t aware that computers would be as big as they are, and that I would end up using one to make a living. Though I cannot say that my typing skills are all that they could be, I am grateful now that I took those classes. Not everyone can be a extremely fast typist, but almost everyone can do a plausible job at it if they put some time into it.

Typing skills are something that come with practice. The keyboard is not arranged in a way that seems to make much sense, but there is some reasoning to it. The keys that are used the most are the ones that are the easiest to get to with comfort. The ones that you use the least are the ones that are a bit harder to use, but as your typing skills increase, this will be something that will not be a problem for you. Most have problems with the numbers, as they are way up at the top of the keyboard, but those can be mastered as well.

Once your typing skills improve, you will find that you can type without thinking about it. You may not have to think about any of the keys unless there are some that you seem to mess up quite often. Everyone has that problem with their typing skills before they are really good at it. Some of the characters on the keyboard can be tricky as well, but the most common ones like the period, question mark, and the comma are pretty easy to get used to finding without looking.

They key to good typing skills is to type without looking. You should not have to worry about where your fingers are landing. There are some great programs that you can buy to put right on your computer that help you with your typing skills. These should go in a logical order that teaches you the easy keys first and then slowly adds the ones that tend to give people the most trouble. You may not think much about improving your typing, but many jobs require a typing test because computers are everywhere. Think of it as an investment in your career.

Need some help with your writing skills? Get a writing tutor and quickly get up to speed!

So many people are less than confident about their writing skills. Some people simply don’t enjoy writing. Of the remainder, either they seldom have occasion to write and therefore lack practice and technique, or they aren’t ‘born’ writers, yet must write frequently, as is the case with business people and particularly, students. Essay after essay, that feeling of dread encompasses them, when given a writing assignment.

Without a good command of the language, knowledge of composition and organizational skills, writing is a painstaking process that may not yield an A or B, even after all of your efforts. If you feel you could use some help to learn how to write well on your own, hire a writing tutor. The writing tutor will review your work, point out strengths and weaknesses and begin with a focus on a skill or skills in order to have your writing improve most quickly.

Writing is one of the essential communication methods we should all try to master. No matter what your field of study may be, you can rest assured that you have many writing tasks ahead of you.

To some, the thought of writing is so fearsome, they’d rather clean the oven than write! Learning to write well will pay you back throughout your life as an effective communicator. Now’s the time. A writing tutor is what you need.

So what should you expect in terms of the services a writing tutor can provide?

Your tutor may begin by reviewing several samples of your work, to gain a sense of your writing skill sets, areas where you need the most help and which will help improve your overall writing skills in the least amount of time. Most tutors do take note of your most common misspellings, e.g., ‘Their goes your dog’ and ‘There house is big’. The writing tutor doesn’t tend to go over particulars in grammar, but instead emphasizes writing skills and techniques that enable you to organize your material, write an outline, compose your work in such a way that the composition flows in a logical manner.

As you build your writing skills, your confidence will increase. Writing’s not so bad after all! Your essay scores are on the rise. This may be the point at which your writing tutor will get in to some of the finer points, which will start polishing your writing to a higher sheen.

Better writing has cadence. Much like a song, a written piece has variations in rhythm, length or shortness of words and clauses and so on. Once you have the concept, cadence will naturally begin to be a consistent element in your sentences.

In almost every piece of writing, the writer is trying to persuade the reader to his point of view. Depending on the subject matter, facts, with citations, are heavyweights in the persuasive argument. In the case of subjective opinions, the skilled use of rhetoric can win the day. Think Clarence Darrow.

As your writing tutor sharpens your skills and broadens your knowledge, you’ll start to realize that you’re beginning to develop your own style! An exciting moment! You can see the value to your future success by hiring a good writing tutor.
